Danbury Triple Double Basketball

League Rules & Guidelines

The league has some differing rules that have been implemented to maintain a safe, fun and competitive league.

  • Games
    • Each game is 40 minutes long, comprised of 2 twenty (20) minute half’s.
    • Game Times are 6:30p, 7:20p and 8:10p every Wednesday.

  • Fouls
    • Fouls committed UNDER 2 minutes. (This rule is used to lessen the chance of injury resulting from close game scenarios).
      • First Half - 1 and 1 foul shots granted to fouled player.
      • Second Half - 2 foul shots granted to the fouled player.
  • Subs
    • There are no forfeits, others players will sub for a team to ensure we play every week.
    • We do not want to assign subs and therefore we allow teams to choose.  Display good sportsmanship when selecting a sub, and also consider players you may not have played with, thus creating new relationships and perhaps a future teammate.
    • All subs should mirror the missing player(s) in regards to skill, height and/or positional need.
    • Below are scenarios when a sub is considered:
      • Your team has 4 or less players.
      • Your team has 5 and the opposing team has 6 or more players.  You may grab one sub, if you choose.
      • If both teams have 5 players, then the game should be played 5 on 5.  If your team would like to have a sub, agreement from the opposing team is necessary.  Instances like this would be on account of player conditioning, skill gap, or positional necessity.
